Our day out began at the Living Stones Church in Kona, Hawaii. The old stump upon which my family is standing sits behind the church looking out on the Pacific. The cross is right behind the one room church. The church is covered with the volcanic rock covering most of the Big Island.
Our day out ended with the sun setting over the Pacific. We enjoyed a picnic dinner with a number of families from the YWAM base in Kona at the Place of Refuge. The Hawaiians had a place of refuge similar to the places of refuge ancient Jews set up in accordance with God’s law. Hawaiian law punished infractions by death, but provided a place for refuge and forgiveness. This is where we were in the two pictures below, one of Regan our two-year-old, and one of my wife, holding the setting sun in her hand.
