The Lord has done great things for us,

And we are filled with joy

Psalm 126:3 NIV

We are so grateful for YOU, our partners, who support God’s ministry in the Dominican Republic through your monetary gifts and your sincere prayers.  THANK YOU! THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  We apologize that it has been so long since you last heard from us, and we hope this article catches you up a bit on God’s great work in La Romana so you can rejoice with us.

This year we have seen a significant impact at our Community Center which serves as the base for all our activities.

Day Care for Seniors

In November 2024 we started with 7 seniors, and we currently serve 25.  Praise God!

These are some of the services provided:

Our Senior work team includes an executive director, nurse, cook, and two activity facilitators.  Each day we follow a schedule of breakfast, devotions, exercise, crafts and games, lunch, memory games and activities, free time, and a closing based on our weekly theme.

Some of the notable impacts are as follows:

We are delighted to report that we are becoming a foundation through the generous donation and help of a pastor in Santo Domingo.  This status as a foundation should assist us in obtaining some funding from the government for the daily running of the senior services; but as you can imagine, we have to wade through a lot of paperwork first.  Presently, our main need continues to be a small bus or large van to help transport our elderly to and from the Community Center.

Medical Clinics

Food

Support in Immigration Processes

Summer Bible School (SBS)

As you can see, the Community Center remains a holistic endeavor that seeks to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of those we encounter while accompanying the healing of the soul under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Please pray that the Community Center remains a beacon of light and joy to our community.

Before we conclude, we want to share something new that has happened.

Surprises in 2025 – A Restaurant!

You may remember that last year a gathering of Christian women was held at the Community Center by the global organization AWMI (Association of Women in Ministry International).  Through the training and sponsorship of the AWMI, several of our local women just opened a restaurant near a funeral home making it easier for those grieving to access healthy food.  Please keep this new endeavor in your prayers also.

Again, we express thanks to you and to God Almighty for the joy we have experienced because God has done and is doing great things!
