DescriptionInspired by the biblical figure Eli, who helped Samuel recognize and respond to God’s call, this initiative provides scholarships for adults attending the World Mission Conference on the “discernment track.” The project not only equips individuals to say “yes” to God’s call but also invites the broader church into the ongoing legacy of global mission engagement. The Eli project will cultivate a new generation of global servants by supporting individuals in the critical early stages of discerning their call to mission. By removing financial barriers to participation in the World Mission Conference’s discernment track, the project creates space for spiritual reflection, meaningful conversations with experienced global servants, and intentional engagement with God’s call. Scholarships will cover internal conference costs such as registration, accommodation, and some meals. Through conversations with global servants, intentional prayer and reflection, and engagement in the broader conference community, recipients will be supported as they listen for and respond to God’s call. The project total cost is $23,529 over 1 year.
Suggested GiftsA gift of $500 will support a partial scholarship for someone considering long-term global service to attend the World Mission Conference on the ‘discernment track.’ A gift of $1,000 will provide a scholarship for 1 individual considering long-term global service to attend the World Mission Conference on the ‘discernment track.’ A generous gift of $5,000 would provide scholarships to 5 individuals considering long-term global service to attend the World Mission Conference on the ‘discernment track.’
