Martin Luther King, Jr.

May we strive to follow Jesus and in so doing bring together people of all races, colors, and ethnicity.  It is a tragedy and instructive that the most segregated hours of every week are those when most worship the Lord Jesus together in church buildings around the world.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” 

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”  Jesus of Nazareth, Son of Man, Son of God.
