When you think of encouragement what do you think of?
Do you think of it as a compliment?
Do you think of it as comfort or making someone comfortable?
Do you think of it as a positive emotional display toward someone?
Do you think of it as trying to make someone happy?
This past Sunday at King’s Community Church in Bedworth the pastor challenged us to think of encouragement as “putting courage in” another. When you live to put courage in one another, it will change the way you approach others. And, ultimately, the purpose is to spur one another on to love and good works. Hebrews 10:24. Now, as you ponder encouragement in this way, meditate on the below verses.
Romans 15:4-7
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
With that I leave you until my next post, which will visit on our effort toward a spirit of unity and peace. God bless and in His Love…
