I am somewhat internet deprived, but getting to come here two days in a row is a blessing. I thought I would back up and fill in a little on yesterday’s post to tell you about one of the miraculous healings that has occurred. It is just one of many.
In just our first two full days of ministry, we saw the first of several dramatic healings, both physical and spiritual. Since that time (we have now been here 12 days), we have seen so many people commit their lives to Jesus.
On our second day of ministry, three of our team were taken by some of the local people of Tagaloan to a sixty-year old man who had suffered a stroke. The stroke had paralyzed him for over four months. The 15-year old translator with the group stepped up to the plate and suggested that the team pray for the man, even though the English-speaking people with her were somewhat overwhelmed at the prospect. Because of her willingness to move with such faith, there was a strong presence of the Holy Spirit in the room and our student was reduced to tears as she cried out to God for His saving and healing power.
When the same group returned the following Tuesday, they shared scriptures and a testimony with the couple. They then prayed and asked if the man wanted to accept Jesus in his life. He responded positively and made a commitment to the Lord Jesus, after which he was able to get to his feet and walk for the first time in four months. Amazed at this, his wife also gave her life to the Lord, with her husband looking on, tears streaming down his eyes.
Maged Kalta, who is the King’s Lodge base leader and our school leader, went back the following day to confirm the healing. He spoke to several in the community, including the local pastor, to confirm that the man had been paralyzed previously and was walking now.
As a result, the local pastor reports many in the community are wanting to attend Bible studies.
Thank you so much for your prayers and continued support – God hears and answers them. We have been encouraged to see the fruit of many days of fasting and praying here in Mindanao.
More reports will be forthcoming; it is just difficult to get to the internet here. We have been very busy and have much more to report!!!!
