We see terror.
We see crashing markets.
We see war.
We see hatred, prejudice, racism, loss of income, worship of idols, divorce, abused children, and we see problems. And problems need fixing.
We see so much that could make us hopeless.
If we let it. Because we try to fix these problems, but every way we try, everything we do, seems to fall short. The problems stand.
But there is another Way.
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:13-18.
I don’t know about you, but everything I’ve been taught about God is that we become one with God by faith. And faith, no matter where you find the definition, is something that has as its object an unseen or unknown aspect. One doesn’t place faith in the certain; one places their faith in the uncertain, believing that the apparent uncertain is certain because of God’s promises.
So, if the basis of all my beliefs is faith, why do I get sidetracked by what is seen? Why do all those apparent evils above concern me so much that I often stop living by faith and start looking for ways to protect myself, survive, escape?
I refuse.
I will live by faith.
God promises He will provide.
God promises that the path of the one who trusts in Him will be smooth and straight.
Let it seem as though all is falling apart financially. I will trust in the one who holds all the finances in His hands.
The same Jesus who lived and died for us? He’s alive. And He is alive in the flesh. He is here for you and me and the power that overcame death has been given to us.
Let’s overcome.
He’s alive. That fixes everything. He is the Fix. He’s the ultimate Fix.
In Him all things are held together. Get high on that.
Fixed.
